Easy and Pucker

Get ready for the greatest, strangest love story ever told! Easy Bealge and Pucker Pug are brothers, not in the genetic sense, but they couldn't be closer if they shared DNA. They came together from a home where the people could no longer care for them. It happens sometimes that people give up multiple dogs, and the dogs usually do ok without each other if we place them seperately. This is NOT the case with Easy and Pucker. They sleep together, eat together, go out to use the grassy restroom facilities together...they are completely inseperable. If a new volunteer walks one without taking the other we hear whimpering and crying and scratching at the door. One just does not want to LIVE without the other, they are that close. People should be so lucky as to ever find a mate who is so wholeheardly devoted and crazy in love. In addition to their love of each other they both adore people. They are affable, easygoing, sweet, laid back little gentlemen. Ok, well little might be a stretch. The other thing they have in common is a love of food. They need to be saved from their own silly selves in this regard. We have taken quite a bit of weight off of them for their own good and it will be something to always be carefully watched. Pucker was actually so overweight it caused his breathing to be exceptionally labored. It was scary. He is much better now, completely back to normal. These two want nothing more in life than to be together with people who love them (and an occassional treat). If they are together they are happy to lay back and watch the world go by. It's a tall request, one we don't know will happen. But we're hoping against hope that it does. They are an odd pair, but so easy to have around...they would be an instant little family. Easy is a male Beagle. He wass born in May of 2003 and weighs 29 pounds. Pucker is a male Pug. He was born in January of 2006 and weighs 27 pounds.

Their Buddy, Annie Hughes, from Waupaca, Wisconsin, sent them this message: "True love is a rare and wonderful thing...and I know the good people at HUA will make SURE you 2 stay together no matter what. Love to you from the Hughes pack: Duffy (HUA alum), Mollie, Charlie, Lucy and Annie" Easy and Pucker send Annie many happy, grateful precious pooch pair kisses.

Their Buddy, Tammie Lang, from Lincoln, Nebraska, sent them this message: "Oh my gosh a person could not find two sweeter dogs! Pucker may be known as Piggy for his snorting and looks, but how wonderful he is learning to watch his figure! And Easy, oh my, he is the most easy going beagle you will ever meet. I recall his first visit to HUA when he was this sad, worn old fella. He so deserves a forever home. Binnie the Beagle and myself send both Pucker & Easy happy kisses and belly rubs." Easy and Pucker send Tammie and Binnie many happy, grateful kisses and tail wags. The said they want Tammie to come back and see them soon! Pucker says he doesn't snort as much now that he's lost weight...and he prefers to call it "moist breathing"...it sounds much more delicate that way.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
