Homeward Bound - Adopted!
Now living happily in Brooklyn, New York.
Allie was rescued from a horrible breeding situation in Iowa. She is such a very pretty girl. Allie is enjoying the good fortune of being indoors with good food, climate controlled environment and people who love her. Many of the other Iowa dogs are still a bit frightened of the people, and Allie has some moments where she is unsure, but for the most part she is loving the attention and having so much fun! Allie is sweet natured and personable.
Allie is positive for heartworms. She is being treated and we are hopeful that she will do well. The treatment is tough for any dog, but for the short nosed breeds it is especially rough.
Allie is a female Boston Terrier. She was born in 2005 and weighs 16 pounds.
Allie is so happy that she has Buddies!!
Her Buddy, Dawn Whiting, from San Diego, California, sent her this message: "Allie, we have two Boston's already so I know what a great dog you are. I am so glad the HUA was able to rescue you and I will think of you until you find your forever home. In loving memory of Allison Leasure." Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
