Adopted! Homeward Bound!
Bessie is a little girl, only 15 pounds, but her photos make her look larger. She's had quite a colorful life. Her "humans " were meth manufactures who left her in a small cage at a trailer when they ran from the law. And she was pregnant. She might be the smartest dog at the shelter and that's saying a lot because we have many smart dogs. She's an entrepreneur always looking out for her own advantage. She's very sweet but she looks out for herself first. She's an admirable little dog, a survivor, a hustler. She adores toys and has been regaling the office staff with a reindeer that plays a medley of holiday tunes. Her house manners are quite good.
Bessie is a mix who was born in 2004. She weighs about 15 pounds. She's been spayed and is current on health care.
Bessie is so happy that she has a Buddy! Her Buddy, Amber Ramirez from Nebraska, sent her this message: "Amber and Chazzy Bean send you lots of puppy kisses! You're a cutie and we hope you are happier and looking forward to finding a new family to love you." Bessie sends them happy kisses.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
