Chalina
Chalina is such a sweet girl. She was rescued from a farm in Iowa where she was being used to breed pups who were sold to pet stores for $50 each. The dog care was frightful, in fact it couldn't really be called care at all. Chalina is still frightened to be held but is getting better and better each day. She wants to please and is such a dear girl. She loves her soft little dog beds and is so relieved to be rescued.
Chalina is a female Chihuahua. She was born in 2002 and weighs 7 pounds.
Chalina is so happy that she has Buddies!!
Her Buddy, Shannon Smith, from Overland Park, Kansas, sent this message to her and to Renaldo: "Your eyes captured my heart. Her Buddy, Ellen Ransom, from Cripple Creek, Virginia, sent her this message: "Such a sad, sweet face, but Love, your troubles are all over now and you will soon find your forever place. Loads of Chihuahua kisses from Sprinkles and Miss Priss to you." Chalina sends many grateful, happy chihuahua kisses to Ellen.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
