Cruz
Cruz is an all around great guy. Just one of the nicest most easy going dogs ever. The poor fellow must have had quite a few traumatic experiences before he came to HUA. Some farmers found him and took pity on him. He was too filthy and covered in ticks to ride inside their pickup truck so they got their horse trailer and brought him in the back of that. So of course then he was covered in mud, ticks and horse droppings. He never had a cross word to say to his rescuers...not even when he was given an industrial length bath and having ticks painfully picked from all over him. He was just happy to be rescued and to be getting some attention and care. We found that his tail had been broken in two places. One was an old break and one was new. It had to be amputated. And still through all this Cruz has the lovliest most affable personality. He will be a great family dog.
Cruz is a male terrier mix, approximately 1 year old. He weighs 24 pounds.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
