Eartha

Eartha is one VERY smart dog! She learns everything immediately. She's very amicable and energetic. She loves to play with dogs and humans. She is a great girl.

Eartha is so very smart that we thought we would see how she would do at agility. She was a newcomer to agility last year, and after just a few months of training, she won 20 first and second place ribbons and received a championship rosette. John, employee of HUA and Eartha's trainer, will be taking her to more agility meets. She is extremely fast and very, very smart. Even more important than that, she's so devoted to John that she would do anything in the world for him. Such a great dog!

It should also be mentioned that Eartha doesn't just win, she wins in style! Her Buddy, Tracy, found out about Eartha's competitions and sent her the most classy, gorgeous collar and leash ever. Eartha knew immediately when we showed it to her that these items were hers. Her eyes lit up and she really perked up and strutted her stuff, quite proud to be so loved and adored. The very next day Eartha won the championship rosette, wearing her lovely new collar.

Eartha just won four first place ribbons at the Spring 2008 competition in Omaha, see video on this page. No one in attendance at the events can believe they are watching dogs from a shelter compete and WIN! The HUA dogs are the talk of the mid-west agility circuits, and for good reason. They are showing people how wonderful they are, and what just a little love and attention can do. John, Eric, Heather, Tammy and all of those involved in the training and competitions for the HUA dogs have hearts of gold, and the dogs appreciate them more than words can say.

Eartha would make a wonderful companion, and if any potential adopters would care to keep up on her agility work, HUA would be happy to help with guidance.

Eartha is a lab mix who was born in 2003. She weighs about 60 pounds. She has been spayed and is current on health care.

Eartha is so happy that she has Buddies !

Her Buddy, Tracy Roksvaag from New Jersey, sent her this message: "Eartha, you are a special little gal who will find the most spectacular home someday. Til then, I will send you virtual hugs and kisses every single day. :-) Your face tells me how big your heart is - I hope you soon have the opportunity to share your love with someone special!!" Eartha sends Tracy happy kisses.

Her Buddies, Jordan and Robin Bass, from Clarksville, Arkansas, sent her this message: "Eartha, you look like a long lost sibling of our beautiful three-legged rescue girl Jalea. Jalea and her brother and sister are so happy you are safe and are sure you will find a wonderful family soon." Eartha sends many grateful, happy kisses to Jordan, Robin and Jalea.

Her Buddies, Nina Williamson & Comet, from Richmond, California, sent her this message: "Hi!, there Eartha you are the clone of our Jet girl, who Comet and I lost last year, so I send big, big hugs and lots petting and Comet sends his famous Nose sniff in the ear(ha, ha)" Eartha sends many happy, grateful kisses and sniffs to Nina and Comet.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
