Elena

Elena is a lovely girl. She was rescued from a terrible puppy mill in Nebraska where she would have been shot and killed because she was no longer needed. We are so thankful we got there in time! Elena had a hernia repaired by the HUA vet and she also lost 6 teeth at her first vet visit. Elena is full of Dachshund spunk. She is very friendly but she does prefer to be the top dog.

Elena is a female Dachshund. She was born in March of 2000 and weighs 12 pounds.

Elena is so happy that she has a Buddy! Her Buddy, Carol Hermann, from Greeley, Colorado, sent her this message: "You are such a pretty girl and deserve a warm, loving forever home. HUA will find that new family for you but until then, they will love and care for you. My 3 doxies, Mollie, Hoover & Oscar and 1 doxie-mix, Max, send you lots of kisses and wish you nothing but the best." Elena sends Carol and her 3 sweet kids many happy, grateful kisses.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
