Emory
Homeward Bound - Adopted! Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska. Emory came from a horrible puppy mill in Iowa where he was tossed out with several other dogs who were sick or would not breed. Emory's injuries were beyond horrifying. We were in shock at the sight of him. Both of his eyes were crusted shut. Green infection oozed out of one eye and the other was red and bleeding from lacerations both to his cornea and the outside skin around his eye. He was in extreme pain and distress. Emory was rushed to a specialist in Omaha who operated on the lacerated eye. He spent some time recovering at a foster home in Omaha and is now back at the shelter. His eyes are still healing and we do expect a full recovery. The veterinary specialist thinks that he was able to save vision in both eyes for Emory. He is such a happy boy. He enjoyed every minute in his foster home. He loved investigating the yard, playing with the other dogs and has taken to being loved and adored by the humans like a duck to water. Emory will be one extremely happy boy to have his very own home and very own person. He is the most gentle, loving boy....a true sweetheart. Emory is a male Maltese. He was born in 2001 and weighs 6 pounds. Emory is so happy that he has Buddies! His Buddy, Shane Leisinger, from Lincoln, Nebraska, sent him this message: "Hi Emory, it is Shane, I met you today and can't believe how much better you are doing than when HUA took you in. I hope the next time I see you you will be playing with other dogs and not so alone." Emory sends Shane many grateful kisses for his support and hopes that Shane comes back to visit him soon. His Buddy, Jenna Dusang, from Clearwater, Florida, sent him this message: "From My Heart To Yours." Emory sends Jenna many grateful, loving kisses. Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. We can give you more information on each dog if you click on the adoption link below. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please click on the adoption link below. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy. Thanks for visiting our dogs!
