Homeward Bound - Adopted.
Now living happily in North Bergen, New Jersey!
Filomena came from a puppy mill in Nebraska. Her poor little heart was broken there. It is slow to mend but she is making progress. She is still nervous and scared of new people, but is becoming more at ease with those she knows. Filomena would enjoy a gentle, patient home where she can continue to learn to love and trust. Her name means "love of song" in Italian. We hope one day soon she forgets all that has happened to her and will have a song in her heart forever.
Filomena is a female Italian Greyhound. She weighs 8 pounds and was born 06/15/07.
Filomena is so happy that she has a Buddy! Her Buddy, Teri Stump, from Lancaster, Ohio, sent her this message: "Filomena - you are a beautiful little ig girl! The 4 ig boys here send you lots of iggy kisses and ear licks. Someone soon will take you home to your forever home." Filomena sends Teri many happy, grateful IG girl kisses and sends much love to her iggy pals at the Stump house.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
