Homeward Bound - Adopted.
Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska!
Heinz was found on a highway near the shelter. He is a wonderful boy. He is very obedient and smart. He likes to walk himself on his leash...he thinks he is really a big boy when he does that. Heinz is such a fun fellow! He is learning to let the humans walk him and doing very well. He is learning sit and stay too, and he is so proud of himself when he gets it right. Heinz is a real treasure. He loves the humans dearly as well as his dog friends. He has a heart of gold.
Heinz is a Dutch Shepherd. We weren't sure of his breed when he was a pup, but now he has grown to fit all of the criteria. He is absolutely exquisite! He was born in June of 2007.
Heinz is so happy that he has Buddies!
His Buddies, Charles & Marilyn Augustyn, from Lincoln, Nebraska, sent him this message: "Dear Heinz, My name is Frodo (it was Frito when I was at HUA). Like you I was found in the country by HUA. I loved it at HUA and they found me a forever family. Now I play with my "sister" Maggie (a setter) and my family and am very loved. I know you'll have a great time at HUA too. --Frodo" Heinz sends many grateful kisses to Frodo and his wonderful family.
His Buddy, Blair Bishop, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent him this message: "You're such a good looking boy. I know you will go to a good home soon." Heinz sends Blair many happy, grateful hugs and kisses...and although he has never met her, he says he has a feeling that she is good looking too!
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
