Cindy, Jan, Marsha, Greg, and Peter were rescued from a puppy mill in the hills of Missouri. They were kept in a run down shack. The person couldn't afford to heat the space anymore and dog sales were declining, so thankfully she gave up and turned the dogs over to rescue so they could find loving homes. Many puppy mills are being driven out of business by decreased puppy sales due to increasing public awareness. Jan is an adorable, gorgeous loving little girl. She lost 11 teeth at her check up and had many mammary tumors removed. This is typical of dogs who do not get proper nutrition and are bred nearly to death. She is recovering nicely and is so happy to be free!
Jan is a female longhaired chocolate dachshund. She was born 11/09/97 and weighs 13.6 pounds.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
