Homeward Bound - Adopted!
Now happily living in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Marcus was found running in the country and was escorted to HUA by a kind stranger. He was very skinny and is still a little bit fearful of people. He likes to please his caregivers, always looking for approval as if he has known some abuse. We cannot imagine what this poor dear boy must have gone through. We can't wait to see his real personality blossom and for him to start having fun, like a JRT should. We don't think it will take him long to realize life is good now and he has nothing to fear. He's a super smart boy. His biggest joy in life right now is treats. He thinks they are FABULOUS!!! And we think he is fabulous.
Marcus is a male Jack Russell Terrier. He was born 06/10/07 and weighs 30 pounds (he really loves the treats).
Marcus is so happy that he has a Buddy!! His Buddy, Curtis Blythe, from Mound City, Kansas sent him this message: "I am making this donation in the name of my beloved dog Bear. I had to do the most difficult thing in my life and have Bear put down after a battle with cancer. I found Bear 8 years ago in an animal shelter where he was going to be put down within the hour! He brought me so many years of joy and I hope I did the same for him. Marcus, I hope you will find the same love and devotion that Bear and I had." Marcus sends Curtis and Bear at The Rainbow Bridge many happy grateful kisses.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
