Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Marlowe had a home. It was not a great home. The people didn't care much about him, didn't have time for him, tossed him out like yesterday's trash. Having a dog was a passing fad to them. He was an impulse purchase at the worst pet store in Omaha. When their social lives became too busy it meant nothing to them to give him up. Being their dog was Marlowe's whole world, his entire reason for living. Although they didn't care about him he was devoted to them with his entire soul, as only a dog could be. Marlowe was frightened out of his mind when he first came to HUA. He cowered, shook, and screamed when a human would touch him. He was just so very upset and afraid. It was completely heartwrenching. Over the course of a couple of days of intense office therapy (where the more frightened dogs live in the office at HUA with the humans for constant interaction) he came around very quickly. He started to play with the other dogs, and approach the people asking for love and affection. He is now a completely different dog. He is having a great time enjoying all of his new human and canine friends, sleeping on the big beds, and playing with the squeaky toys. We are so happy that we were able to rescue him, and reach his precious little heart to give him comfort and assure him that he is now safe and loved forever. We will find him a new family, and that new family will understand that they are his world and will make the lifetime commitment to love and care for him always. He deserves no less.

Marlowe is a male longhaired red dachshund. He was born 9/25/03 and weighs 11 pounds.

Marlowe is so happy that he has a Buddy! His Buddy, Yasuhiko Homma, from Beverly Hills, California, sent him this message: "Dear Marlowe, you are a lovely boy and I am so happy that you are no longer afraid and are settling in better. All my best wishes for you to be at peace and find a loving home very soon." Marlowe sends Yasuhiko many grateful, happy hugs and kisses.
