Nautica
Nautica was rescued from a commercial breeding facility, a former hog confinement used for dogs, in Arkansas. Nautica is a lovely little girl who wants desperately to trust humans. She is not all the way there yet, but she is watching with wide eyes and hoping that things will be ok. She is very estute, wanting to know what is going on, deciding if she wants to be a part of things and yet not quite sure it's true that she is invited to be part of the lives of the humans. Nautica is liking her new home at HUA. She laps up her good soft food with whole vegetables in it and loves to snuggle in her warm blankets. She loves play times with the other dogs in the yard. She is still nervous, but with time she will settle in, and realize that this wonderful new life is truly meant for her.
Nautica is a female Affenpinscher. She weighs 14.5 pounds. She was born 9/9/05.
Nautica is so happy that she has a Buddy! Her Buddy, Ruth A. Divine, from Mount Vernon, Missouri sent her this message: "Hello, precious little black girl with the big eyes! Keep watching, wonderful things are going to happen in your life now. I hope to visit and personally greet all the beautiful dogs at this sanctuary soon." Nautica sends Ruth many grateful kisses.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
