Homeward Bound - Adopted!
Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sunflower's people were criminals of the worst sort. They moved and left her tied to a tree. Her water bowl was frozen and the rope they left her tied out on was too short to be able to get to the shed for shelter or the bag of food they left. They fully intended for her to freeze or starve to death. Fortunately kindly neighbors saw what was happening and made sure that Sunflower made her way to safety. Sunflower is a fun-loving, adorable, playful pup. She is so happy to be rescued and so grateful for everything given to her, especially love.
Sunflower is a female golden retriever mix. She was born 5/10/07 and weighs 48 pounds.
Sunflower is so happy that she has Buddies!
Her Buddy, Katie Pavel, from Chicago, Illinois, sent her this message: "I am so glad that you were rescued from those horrible conditions! Your pictures remind me so much of my old Golden! Someone will love and care for you soon! I send you kisses from Chicago!" Sunflower sends many grateful, happy kisses right back to Katie.
Her Buddy, Kayla, from Pittsford, New York, sent her this message: "Dear Sunflower, I am so happy to be able to help you. You are a beautiful girl and I will be wishing for you to find a wonderful family very soon." Sunflower sends Kayla many happy, grateful puppy kisses and tail wags.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who help support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the Buddy.
