Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska with Eldora Chihuahua who was adopted along with him on the very same day.

Zachary was rescued from a commercial breeding facility in Nebraska . The lack of care is overwhelming. Zachary's lower jaw literally rotted away from poor nutrition and no dental care. He can only eat the smallest bites of human baby food or very soft canned dog food. He has one tooth left, and it is totally disgusting. He is so skinny that if you put your hand around his waist your fingers touch. We were overwhelmed with sadness at Zachary's condition. He weighed just under 3 pounds. Zachary is not sad though. On his first trip to the play yard at HUA he ran like the wind! We could not believe our eyes. He was enjoying his freedom immensely. He was actually hard to catch because he was running so fast. He would look back at us with big smiles, happily playing catch me if you can. Zachary is one of the worst examples we've seen of substandard care. It is hard to make up for all of the years of imprisonment and neglect, but for Zach we are determined. He will be happy, healthy and loved.

Zachary is a male apricot poodle. He was born 8/24/98 and weighs 3.2 pounds.

His Buddies, Sue and Randy Cook, from Illnois, sent him this message: "Zach, you are a beautiful little poodle boy.  You have the sweetest eyes, and the happiest smile.  We love you, and send you many many hugs and kisses.  We know that you have a little red poodle guardian angel named Bandit, making sure you are adopted by the best family ever."
