Millie
Millie knew that her puppies would be born very soon. It was a horribly cold day late in October of 1991. Stinging rain turned to ice and the temperatures dropped to zero. Millie found a dog house in a backyard. There was already a dog living there, but he didn't mind when she moved in with him and gave birth to eight puppies. When Millie came to the Shelter, she was terribly thin. She had to be treated for heartworms and developed pneumonia. Her recovery time was lengthy, but she became a very healthy, and strong girl and has lived here ever since. She is the most devoted, thankful dog at the Sanctuary.
