Ariel Featured

be my buddy
Chihuahua
Born: 07/09/2012
Tiny
4 lbs
Female

Ariel was in a life-threatening situation when the vet from the ER called HUA, asking us if we'd be able to take over her care. This beautiful, tiny creature was in the throes of labor and had been for at least twelve torturous hours, but her little body was unable to give birth. The puppies were stuck. Ariel's owner was a college student who had no money to save her life. We immediately authorized care for Ariel and the ER vet was able to save her, but unfortunately her puppies did not pull through. Despite her frightening and horribly painful ordeal, Ariel is the cutest, friendliest little girl ever. She is a social butterfly, flitting from human to human to be admired and adored. She is healthy and happy and the perfect little princess. Ariel is so delicate and fragile that if her new home has children they should be older and if her new home has dogs, they need to be on the small side. The wee little bugger must be kept safe from harm so she can live out the rest of her life pampered and spoiled, as well she should be.

Her Buddy, Lisa Tegels, from Urbandale, IA, sent her this message: "What a precious young lady you are, Ariel! I'm so glad that you've been given a second chance to find a wonderful home. You keep smiling, little sweetie!" Ariel sends Lisa lots of very happy cuddles and many grateful kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
