Homeward Bound! Adopted!!

Now living happily in Omaha, NE.

Teak Beagle was brought to HUA by his heartbroken family, who fell on such hard times that they were no longer able to take good care of him. These situations are so awful for everybody involved and we are always sensitive to the emotions the dog must be experiencing. Teak was confused and sad. We covered him with hugs and kisses and assured him that he was going to have a very good time here until we found him a new home. Teak had no reason not to believe us and quickly decided that yes, this IS a fun place. He plays with all the awesome toys, he loves going on walks with the volunteers, he enjoys playing with his many dog friends. Teak is a people watcher and we laugh wondering what is going through his mind as he takes in all the goings-on. He seems very amused by human antics and flashes some cheeky grins if we do something particularly ridiculous. He is a funny, handsome, smart boy and will fit right in to home life, grateful for being given a second chance at love.
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddies, Bob and Lin Meehan, from Vienna, VA, sent him this message: "Hi Teak. You remind me of our first rescue beagle Lady. I'm sure you are all man but you could be her brother. She was a great dog and I'm sure you are a great little man who will make some family very happy." Teak agrees that he is a fabulous boy and sends the Meehans lots of very happy smiles, cuddles, and many happy kisses!
His Buddy, Jaci Stuifbergen, from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "What a sweet face, you look very much like our two beagles. It breaks my heart to hear you were mis-treated early in life, but you are in good hands now." Teak sends Jaci many happy grins and grateful kisses of thanks!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
