Venus

be my buddy
Bassett Hound Mix
Born: 09/27/2006
Large
64 lbs
Female

Venus is a joy and a pleasure to have living with us, albeit temporarily. We came in one day to find her waiting patiently for us to open the doors and let her in. We're sure she had a home once, and was probably dumped at the shelter by her people for some ridiculous reason. She is a super happy girl who just loves all people and is the sweetest friend to the other dogs. She is so smart and listens intently to everything we say, as if trying to absorb all the love she has been longing for her whole life. We think the Lovely Venus will house train quite quickly, if she is not already completely there. She really is just a charming, all-around good girl.

Buddy Messages (4)
Her buddy, Gini Barrett, from San Bernardino, CA, sent her this message: "Hi, Venus. You sound so much like my beloved Meeka, who was the most perfect dog in the world. I hope that person whose heart is seeking you finds you soon. They will be very lucky indeed." Venus sends Gini many tender kisses as she remembers her Meeka, and sends grateful hugs, too.
Her Buddy, Kristine Watari, from Portland, OR, sent her this message: "Hi Venus!! You are such a sweetheart! I know that you will find your fur-ever home very soon! Sending you hugs and kisses!" Venus loved the hugs and kisses, and sends Kristine great big smiles, happy cuddles and many grateful kisses of thanks!
Her Buddy, Bobbie Colgan, sent her this message: ""Dear little Venus I hope you find a forever home very soon. Beagles and Basset hounds are my favorit dogs. I am sending many puppy kisses and hugs your way". Venus loved the puppy kisses and sends Bobbie many dainty kisses and great big hugs in return!
Kristin Krohn of Lincoln, Nebraska, writes: "Hi Venus. My kids think you are a very pretty dog. We all hope you find your forever home soon, but we're glad you've found temporary shelter at HUA." Venus sends the entire Krohn family many happy tail wags and grateful kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
