be my buddy
Born: 12/07/2004
9 lbs

Dorito came with a large group of his buddies from a puppy mill rescue in Nebraska. He's a shy guy that needs some tender loving care to help him come out of his shell. Many of the dogs from that rescue are trying very hard to acclimate to actual comfort and love. They do not yet understand that they deserve goodness. Dorito likes to hang out with his equally shy friend, Chela, and together they discuss such things as the oddity of a toy or the hole digging of the less sophisticated residents. Dorito is taking it all in and deciding slowly when he will trust us all the way. We don't think it will take long - you can see the yearning in his pretty eyes. Being in a home is exactly what Dorito needs to cultivate that perky Chihuahua attitude hidden in there somewhere.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Camille Brady, from Lincoln, NE, sent him this message: "Dorito you are such a cutie! I am a chihuahua momma so I have a soft spot in my heart for chis! I sure hope you find a forever home soon, you deserve unconditional love! If you're at HUA next time I visit I promise to find you so we can cuddle and play!" Dorito can't wait to see Camille and sends her shy cuddles and many happy tail wags until then!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
