Fiska

be my buddy
Dachshund mix
Born: 06/20/2007
Small
12 lbs
Female

Janka and her sister, Fiska, came to the shelter from a horrifying, filthy breeding operation in Missouri. The poor darlings were so terrified of people when they arrived that we wondered if they were actually feral. Our hearts broke for them. Over time, both girls have shown improvement and are starting to love and appreciate their freedom. They are making progress toward trusting us and no longer flee in terror when they see a human approaching. We know that with patience and understanding, both girls will come to know that life is good and full of comfort. Fiska is starting to show us a frisky side and we can see her sweet personality beginning to shine through. She is happy to sit on a lap and be shown the wonders of the world. She is getting more curious and approaching us when we ask her to. She is a sweet, gentle creature who deserves nothing but the best of everything.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
