Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Colorado!

Janka and her sister, Fiska, came to the shelter from a horrifying, filthy breeding operation in Missouri. The poor darlings were so terrified of people when they arrived that we wondered if they were actually feral. Our hearts broke for them. Over time, both girls have shown improvement and are starting to love and appreciate their freedom. They are making progress toward trusting us and no longer flee in terror when they see a human approaching. We know that with patience and understanding, both girls will come to know that life is good and full of comfort. Janka is absolutely beautiful with her soulfull eyes and golden pony tails. She likes cuddling up and lounging in the yard with the breeze in her hair and the sun warming her back. We can see in her eyes that she is marveling at this good, new life and hoping that the best is yet to come.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddy, Carla Marker from Germantown, MD, sent her this message: "Time does heal, I adopted a puppy mill girl a few years ago and she's happier than ever. You're a beautiful girl and your forever home is right around the corner. You'll be in our prayers, from me and my three, Scooty, Maddie and Isabella." Janka sends Carla and her furkids, Scooty, Maddie and Isabella lots of happy tail wags and little kisses!
Her Buddy, Marti McMillen, from Overland Park, Kansas, sent her this message: "Love you & Fiska! GO GIRLS! Your Overland Park friends~ dave, marti missy &MR" Janka sends Marti, Dave and MR many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
