Meara

be my buddy
Dachshund
Born: 03/26/2005
Small
10 lbs
Female

Homeward bound-adopted!!

Now living happily in Des Moines, Iowa.

Meara was turned over to a vet friend of the shelter due to a severe case of mammary tumors. Our friend wanted Meara to have a shot at life and the best of care, and asked if we'd do that for her. Meara had multiple tumors, and although there were many, they were well excised and fairly easy to remove. Happily, this means that her prognosis is good and Meara is considered healthy. She has a calm, sweet temperament. She is loving and kind. She is grateful that we saved her and shows us nothing but goodness. It warms the heart to watch this girl roll in the freshly cut grass, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the day. We hope that very soon, she'll be doing the same thing in her own yard with her new family.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddy, Lynette Dugan, from Tremonton, Utah, sent her this message: "Meara....you look just like my Midgee. She is a sweet girl too and I will be here for you until you adopt a loving family that will give you lots of hugs & kisses." Meara sends Lynette and Midgee many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
