Muffin is that lovely looking product of a puppy mill. She lived as a breeder dog for five years in a Kansas puppy mill, and the personality she might have had was totally beaten out of her. All she knew when she arrived was fear of people and fear of any new situation. She has learned a lot at the shelter about having fun playing in a yard and having treats and enjoying other little dogs. She is still fearful of having people touch her, but she is on her way to learning that people think she is precious and there are lots of good things just waiting to happen.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddy, Barbara Taylor, from Exeter, New Hampshire, sent her this message: "Oh Muffin, I am so sorry that the 1st 5 years of your life were so horrible, but now you've come to the best place to learn that there is a lot more to life than being mistreated, and I have no doubt that you'll learn, because Hearts United for Animals IS THE BEST! You WILL learn that there are those who have lots of love to give you, and I have no fear that they'll succeed in showing you. You are one dear little girl about which I have every confidence, and a lot of FAITH, too." Muffin sends Barbara many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Edna Shattuck, from Washington, DC, sent her this message: "Hello dear, beautiful Muffin. Our Roxy was also used for breeding and fortunately found her way to HUA too. When we brought her home, she was very shy and afraid of nearly everything. It took awhile for her to get used to what kindness meant, to learn to play and to trust affection. Once she turned the corner that all changed. It will for you too. Just you wait (hopefully not too long) and see how wonderful life will be. We wish you gentle pats, lots of love and the warm laps of a forever home family to curl up in." Muffin sends Edna and Roxy many hopeful smiles and lots of very happy tail wags!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
