Yucca

be my buddy
Dachshund
Born: 05/14/2008
Tiny
7 lbs
Female

Yucca was rescued from a hoarder in Kansas. She and 30 other dogs were living in a very small run down house. They had never been outdoors and were in cramped, filthy conditions. Yucca had been attacked by the male dogs and portions of her ears are missing because of it. Fortunately a family member recognized that the dogs needed to be saved and called HUA to help. Yucca is a beautiful little girl who loves her play time with the other dogs. She enjoys the big yards and the clean spaces with nice warm, soft blankets to burrow in. She is still learning to trust people but is coming around nicely. She is a big eater and loves her canned food, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. It has whole peas and carrots in it and she thinks it is very, very tasty! Every day is a new experience for Yucca. She is a smart girl who is taking it all in, and learning how to enjoy her new found freedom, comfort and safety.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
