Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska

Kaiya was found as a stray and brought to the shelter by kind people trying to help a homeless dog. She is gorgeous, smart and intuitive. Somebody must have liked her at some point in her life as time was taken was teach her tricks like sitting for a treat. We don't know how long she was on the run or what may have happened to her, but Kaiya may have suffered some sort of injury to her neck. Her head is tilted at an angle oh so slightly. It actually makes us think she is listening intently to every word we say. The vet has reported that she is not in any pain nor is she disabled in any way. Kaiya rooms with one of the more, ahem, "difficult" dogs and manages to get along with him just fine, even though others cannot. She is a gentle sweetheart with a lovely disposition.

Her Buddy, Michelle West, from Lincoln, NE, sent her this message: "HI Gorgeous girl!! If I could, I would take you and many other pups home. Right now, all I can do is donate and hope someone scoops you up and loves you forever!!" Kaiya sends Michelle many grateful kisses and happy tail wags!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
