Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Great Falls, Virginia.

Mason and Lamar were rescued from a puppy mill in Nebraska. Due to ignorant, poor breeding practices, both of them were born with severe deformities in their back legs. Neither could walk or move their bodies away from the waste in their cages. They were in such great pain that they acted like geriatric patients rather than puppies. They were skittish around humans and did not want to be handled. Thanks to the many donations that poured in for their care, HUA was able to bring them to a top orthopedic specialist in Omaha, where they both received life changing surgery.

Our boys are healed up now and could not be any sweeter. They are making up for all that lost time spent in agony and play the day away. They zip around the yard and bounce about with the other dogs like nothing can stop them. Because they are still babies, they are very busy with their fun activities and every day is a new adventure. Lamar in particular has become so fond of the squeaky toys that he steals them from his friends and brings them to Mason for safe keeping. Their antics are never-ending and highly entertaining.

We are thrilled to be able to put these two little champions up for adoption and offer them the kind of lives every puppy deserves. Lamar and Mason are not so bonded that they must be adopted together - they love playing with just about anyone and everyone and are overjoyed at the thought of being part of a real family for the first time in their lives.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, June Willoughby, from Coos Bay, OR, sent him this message: "Hello Lamar! I'm so glad you are finally on the website. I've been waiting for you for what seems like a long time. I hope you will be adopted soon and in the meantime, know that I love you!" Lamar is so grateful for June's good wishes for him during his surgery and sends her many happy kisses and puppy cuddles!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
