Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Smithfield, Rhode Island

Lula came from a puppy mill in Missouri. She was typically timid and unsure of this new life, but she is becoming happier by the day. She is the sweetest of all creatures, showing joy in recess time with all of her friends and warming up to the caretakers and volunteers. She is discovering that laps are awesome places to be, and loves sitting with a person and watching the goings-on. Because her hair was never trimmed away from her face while she was at the mill, Lula has dry eye and needs daily drops to keep her feeling well. She is so grateful for her medicine that she never objects to us administering it. She sits prettily, like the sweet angel she is, and sighs with contentment while getting her drops. She is a darling, unassuming, precious soul so very deserving of a home of her own.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddy, Jennifer McDaniel, from Westminster, CO, sent her this message: "Oh, Lula! You have the sweetest face, and the most beautiful brown eyes! The McDaniel family is so glad that you are safe at HUA. The folks at HUA will take such good care of you, and will make sure you are placed in a safe and happy forever-home. Until that time, enjoy your time there mingling with all the other pups. Josh and I, and Brody the West Highland White Terrier, are very happy to be your buddies! XOX, Jennifer" Lula sends Jennifer, Josh and Brody oodles of very happy little kisses and great big-girl hugs!
Her Buddies, the Mitchell family, from Medford Lakes, NJ, sent her this message: "Dear Lula, you are just a doll! We're tickled that you have discovered the joy of sitting in laps and cuddling with people, and we hope you get to do LOTS of that with your new family very soon! You deserve the very best, sweet girl!" Lula sends Babette, Gabrielle, Romeo, Penelope and Solomon Mitchell, and their mommy, Olivia, oodles of happy kisses and loving cuddles!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
