be my buddy
Born: 10/01/2007
10 lbs

Max's people were forced to surrender him when they could no longer care for him. Max's heart was broken into pieces and he has been taking some time to recover. We understand how frightening all of this can be for a dog who has been in a home and we are working very hard to make the little guy feel safe. He has been enjoying spending time with his roommate and loves running and playing in the yard. When he is feeling particularly contrary, we hook on the leash and take Max for a nice, long walk. This always does the trick and calms him down when he is feeling out of sorts. Max needs a home with people who will understand that he has been through some trying times. We know he will love and love big, he just needs to know he is safe and in a his own place that he will never have to leave.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Virginia Kass, from Mankato, MN, sent him this message: "Little big guy Max, I hope you will soon be in your "furever" home showered with lots of love." Max hopes so, too, and sends Virginia many very happy kisses and so many grateful hugs!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
