Apache

be my buddy
Papillon
Born: 04/24/2001
Tiny
6 lbs
Male

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Nebraska.

Apache came from a recent puppy mill rescue out of Nebraska with many other Papillons. His tiny mouth was sore and severely infected, causing him to lose 25 teeth during his vet visit. We can't even imagine the pain he was in, and his time at the mill has affected the way he looks at life. He is not of the hysterical sort, rather he is quite reserved and gentlemanly. He is shy and still trying to figure things out. He takes comfort in being with the other Paps that suffered along with him, and the more outgoing ones are showing him the ropes. We know Apache will be just fine. He doesn't shrink in horror like so many dogs from puppy mills do. He just needs a little time to understand that he is never, never going to be back in that wretched place where he spent the first 9 years of his life.
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddy, Lynette Arnold, from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "Apache, you are a very handsome gentleman, and I'm so pleased to hear that you are becoming a social butterfly and enjoying lap time with the volunteers! I hope your very special and very lucky family comes to adopt you real soon. I'm wishing the best for you, little man! Love, Lynette" Apache sends Lynette many grateful little kisses and warm little cuddles!
His Buddy, Rita Hansen-Nieuwendijk, from Plano, Texas, sent him this message: "Hi Apache, How are you doing today? You know you have a buddy now until you find your forever home and I hope for you this will not be a long time. You have such a innocent look in your eyes. I send you warm hugs from Texas and a dog kiss from Pickwick our Scottie. ;-)" Apache sends Rita and Pickwick many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
