HUA recently took in a wonderful bunch of smushy-faced, charming and sweet dogs from a local humane society. They were there due to a severe case of hoarding that resulted in the suffering of many dogs due to neglect and lack of medical attention. When the humane society was unable to adopt out some of the older and/or special needs dogs, they contacted us for help, knowing that these glorious animals would always have a home with HUA if they never found their forever homes. We love these animals and they have all become very important to us.
Rishi is a big, fluffy teddy bear who displays a constant wink. We have no idea where his right eye went, but the lack of it is more than likely due to an injury left untreated. He can see just fine with his remaining eye and darts about the place while cavorting with the other members of the Peke gang. Rishi is learning to like humans and has made great strides, but he can still be easily spooked. We assure him that we are not going to sneak up on him ever and we understand he does not like surprises. Once he gets to know a person, he gets quite excited and is showing quite a loving side to his caregivers. We believe Rishi will thrive in a home once he realizes that he is safe and sound with the first family he's ever known.
