Pomeranian

Female

On April 15th, 2013, Hearts United for Animals rescued 19 dogs from miserable conditions where they had lived for years in a Lancaster County, Nebraska puppy mill. Most of them were underweight, and all have medical issues due to severe neglect. All of the dogs were so happy to be rescued. They delighted in the comfort given to them by their rescuers. They enjoyed their clean new spaces and wonderful soft food. They lapped up their fresh, clean, abundant drinking water – something they had been lacking.

Rescuers decided that these dogs are definitely rock stars! They came through their ordeal with such happy, positive attitudes, looking forward to their much improved new lives. They survived, they endured, and they will become loved family members.

Lita Ford arrived at HUA with a serious uninary tract problem and a grossly infected mouth. After her dental and medications, she is now right as rain. The staff calls Lita "the Trooper". She is right with the program all the time with not a shy bone in her body. She adores being in the middle of things and seeks out people for fun. Her grin is constant and her tail is always in motion. She exudes peace and joy. After all this darling girl has lived through, we marvel at her absolute refusal to be anything but gloriously happy and open to love from all humans.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddy, Alice Wofsy, from Carney's Point, NJ, sent her this message: "Lita, You are sooo cute and spunky! I feel sure there's a wonderful fur-ever home in your future. Alice Wofsy" Lita Ford sends Alice many little loving kisses and oodles of happy hugs!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
