Tella

be my buddy
Poodle
Born: 02/25/1999
Tiny
7 lbs
Female

Tella had her poor little heart smashed to pieces by the evil puppy miller to whom she belonged for ELEVEN lonely and degrading years. She is scared of everything that is supposed to be good in this world. We can only imagine what she had to endure and what circumstances have made her so frightened. At first, Tella could not even look us in the eye. She felt she did not deserve kindness. Slowly, she has come around to letting us love her and she is starting to be happy about play time. Her good buddy, Hiawatha, is helping her to believe that she is worthy of friendship and fun. Tella needs an understanding family that will continue to give her the support she needs to be the happy poodle she should be. We know she can do it - we're seeing little glimmers of hope from her - and we believe that Tella CAN find peace, good times and comfort from the special people who give her a home.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddies, Richard and Marilyn Duxbury, from Lincoln, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Dear Tella, We love black dogs and you really caught our eye. You are such a lovely girl. We wish you all the best and hope you find a wonderful home very soon." Tella sends Richard, Marilyn and HUA alum Nikki, many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddies, Mike and Mary Trummer, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Merry Christmas little girl! We have a little poodle like you and can't imagine anyone not wanting to smother something as cute and sweet as you with nothing but love. Our hopes are that the rest of your life is filled with the love you deserve!" Tella sends Mike, Mary and their little poodle many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
