Homeward Bound! - Adopted!

Happily living in Fair Lawn, NJ

Retro was found by another rescue group in Iowa and then transferred to HUA. The kid is a hoot. He has the biggest grin on his adorable face almost constantly. He adores squeaky toys and is always up for a game of toss. Retro has some opinions of his own, and one of them is that he will let us know what it is he wishes to do. If he is not ready to come in for recess, we hear about it. If there are too many other dogs in the yard with him, we hear about it. Not ready to settle down for the night and go to bed? Yes, we hear about it. Once we follow his rules, he is all about zooming up to us for hugs and kisses. We all find him quite charming and very amusing. He thinks he's smarter than the rest of us, and he may not be completely wrong about that. He's a dog that will cause many fits of laughter for years to come.
Buddy Messages (3)
His Buddy, Theresa Dinslage, from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "Retro, you are too cute for words! I'm glad to help with your care until you find your forever home, which certainly shouldn't take very long!" Retro sends Theresa lots of joyful tail wags and many playful smooches!
His Buddy, Micheline Henning, from Lincoln, NE, sent him this message: "God bless you little buddy!! Hope you find a good home very soon! Love and hugs your way!!" Retro sends Micheline lots of happy hugs and kisses in return!
His Buddy, Casey Greathouse, from South Point, OH, sent him this message: "How can this sweet little man not have a furever home yet? Look at this face!" Retro agrees that he is cuter than a bug's ear and sends Casey lots of big boy hugs and kisses for pointing that out!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
