Spaniel Mix
Born: 06/10/2004
Small
14 lbs
Female

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha.

She is so beautiful, yet her eyes are filled with sadness. She is not an old dog, but she has an old soul. She is sweet and good and kind - everything that humans have NOT been toward her. Alicia came from a very serious hoarding situation and this experience beat her down. She arrived very nervous with no confidence whatsoever. She didn't expect a single good thing from us. After weeks of quiet observation, Alicia started to realize that HUA is a GOOD place and a FUN place. She has begun to emerge from her dark thoughts and her tail is now up and wagging. She is taking her time coming all the way out of her shell, but we are seeing glimpses of happiness every day. Alicia is an example of a dog who has been disappointed by humanity, but still wants to believe that people can be good. She will thrive from the one-on-one attention that can only be provided in her own home, with a family that yearns to prove to her that she is worthy of all the love in the world.

Love Rene" Alicia sends Rene and her four sweeties many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Maurine Roller, from Alliance, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Hey little buddy! You are in for a great life and I and my rescue buddies Trio and Taz send you lots of hugs and kisses! You are adorable. Life will be wonderful in your forever home." Alicia sends Maurine, Trio and Taz many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Debra Renken, from Rapid City, South Dakota, sent her this message: "Hi Alicia, I know you will find the perfect forever home. Miss Fern and I are living proof that you can have your heart broken and still find happiness and love. We hope you find a family that loves and deserves you. Miss Fern and Deb" Alicia sends Deb and Fern many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
