Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lacy, Washington.

Anatole came from a puppy mill where he spent the first six years of his life. He is still scared of the people but the staff at HUA is working with him daily. At first he didn't even want to go out to recess with the other dogs because he was afraid of being near the humans. Now he will follow the other dogs out and has come to love running and playing in the yard. It's a big adventure for a little mill dog who has known nothing but confinement in a small cage. Anatole will come around with love and affection, and we continue to work hard to gain his trust. It comes in baby steps, but it's coming. Anatole lost 15 teeth at his first vet visit. They were so rotten that the only thing holding them in was the hard decaying filth covering them. Poor nutrition and pig watering bottles contribute to early loss of teeth in mill dogs. Anatole is a darling little boy. He will need a quiet patient home with someone who will work with him to teach him all the good things that life has to offer. Anatole is a male Papillon. He was born in 2002 and weighs 16.2 pounds.
