Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Ann was rescued from a commercial breeding facility in Nebraska. She had a very hard life there. For 5 years she produced puppies for pet stores. She lived in a cage while her teeth rotted away and her health deteriorated. We were told that she fought off a male dog trying to mount her and that her scars didn't heal well. When we looked for ourselves we could see no visable place in which she could urinate because she had been torn so badly. Thankfully she can urinate. She went immediately in for an emergency spay as the vet thought that another heat cycle may kill her. In spite of Ann's rotten luck in life she is maintaing a wonderful outlook. She is having the best time ever making new friends at HUA, both human and canine. She startles easily, as you can imagine, but wow is she becoming a happy, loving little girl. Her smile lights up the world. Ann is a female dachshund. She was born 4/14/03 and weighs 12.7 lbs.
