Australian Shepherd
Born: 08/22/2011
Medium
33 lbs

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Bruce and his brother, Brice, were rescued from a horribly abusive situation in South Dakota. He was a frightened boy when he came to us, certain that all people would harm him. He has an open, loving heart, however, and quite quickly became a charming dog who was desperate to show us that he was in dire need of love. He has become a bit of an addict when it comes to belly rubs. He cannot get enough of those fabulous things. We oblige him all he wants as rolling over to display his belly is also a sign that he has come to trust humans, and that is a huge accomplishment for a dog like Bruce. He is a good boy who has become very people-oriented. He loves his walks and is quite the gentleman on his leash. Bruce will be overcome with joy once he is brought home with his new family and his loyalty and love will be never-ending.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Jim Bell from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "Rachel thinks Bruce is a handsome boy and would love to be his Buddy. Jeb has been ignoring her advances." Bruce sends Jim, Rachel and Jeb lots of hugs and happy tail wags (and tells Jeb to be patient!)

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
