Chumley

be my buddy
Boxer Mix
Born: 01/24/2010
Medium
35 lbs
Male

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Chumley was brought into the shelter from a surrounding area that is riddled with stray dogs and careless people. He did not come from the best of neighborhoods. But he is a young, tough guy who weathered the storm and came out on top. His photos may lead you to believe that he is a lazy sort, content to lie about contemplating the meaning of life and not so happy about the camera's intrusion. Not so! Chumley is actually quite the life of the party. He is entusiastic, goofy, playful and rambunctious. We think he is quite the handsome devil and he enjoys it when we tell him so. Chumley is a great pal to his room-mates and the perfect choice for a family looking for a dog they'll forever call a "character."
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddy, Kristin Gill, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent him this message: "Dear Chumley, You are a superstar! I just know that someone will take you home and be so happy to be entertained by your goofy, silly ways forever and ever. Until then I am so proud to be your Buddy!" Chumley sends Kristin many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
His buddies, the Melodie Smith family of Des Moines, IA, sent him this message: "Hi Chumley! My name is Survivor and I used to live at HUA too. I asked if you could come and live with us, but my parents said I'll have to be your long distance buddy for now. Don't worry though, you'll find a forever home soon! (Hopefully when you do, you won't end up with a bossy dachshund sister like I did.)" Chumley sends some long distance hugs and thankful tail wags to Survivor and his family.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
