Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Grab the tissues! These pictures are sure to make you weep... with wild laughter. Conrad is the Life of the Party, the Class Clown, the Royal Jester. He is the silliest, goofiest, nuttiest pup on the planet with not a single care in the whole wide world. Life wasn't alway a party for our boxer boy, which is why it is all the more satisfying to see him having such a grand time of it. You see, Conrad lived in a home filled with physical violence and utter terror. Many times after a human was beaten, it became Conrad's turn, and he was kicked and screamed at for no other reason than he was in the room. Finally, he was surrendered to a rescue organization that knew he would be cherished by us and we'd do everything in our power to take away the pain. Conrad has flourished at the shelter, and he came around much more quickly than we could have hoped. He plays like a crazy man, loves taking his people for walks, and has become a Tug of War champion. Conrad still shies away from tall men upon first meeting, so we know he is not completely rid of his demons. He is working on it, though, and becoming more trusting by the day. We are enormously proud of him and thrilled to see his sunny smile, knowing he feels safe for the first time in his short life.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Deb Rasmussen, from Lincoln, Nebraska, sent him this message: "Dear Conrad, You look like such a sweet, loving boy! We hope you find your forever home soon! Deb, Pinky, Little Man and Rhett Rasmussen." Conrad sends Deb, Pinky, Little Man and Rhett many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
