Border Collie

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Yes, she is as gorgeous as she looks in her pictures. Yes, she is loving and friendly and happy and kind. Yes, she enjoys a little herding now and then as a hobby, since it IS what she was born to do. Elizabeth was found wandering the countryside, trying to find her home and her people, who very likely dumped her on the side of the road and took off. As confused as she must have been, Elizabeth was still very polite to the people she met along her journey, and when a kind person told her about HUA, she jumped right on the band wagon. She is happy to be here. She is happy to know that we will take super care of her until she leaves us to go to her new home. While she waits, Elizabeth will continue her life's work, keeping the unruly Labs in line and tossing balls into the air. She would like you to hurry up, however, because she rather enjoys the idea of being spoiled to pieces by humans. Just the thought of it makes her smile.

P.S. We have cat-tested Elizabeth. She LOVES THEM!!! So much so that we do not think she should live with them. The resident cats did not enjoy nor did they appreciate her superb herding abilities.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddy, Jane Howard, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Dear Elizabeth, I can't get over how much you look like my very first dog when I was a little girl. His name was Whiskers and he was as handsome as you are beautiful. He was gentle, loyal, and all good things as I'm sure you are. Today I have another border collie from HUA named Cody, who is also gentle and loving. She is very close friends with Duffy, who I also adopted from HUA, so right now there is a full house! The three of us send many kisses to you and prayers that you find your forever home soon! Love, Jane, Cody, and Duffy" Elizabeth sends Jane, Cody and Duffy many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Erin Cameron, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "What a beautiful baby girl! A new family will fall in love with you in no time!" Elizabeth sends Erin many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
