Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Elvis was brought to the shelter because his owner could no longer afford to keep him. It's a very sad state of affairs when a 5 pound pup can not be fed properly. Mr. Elvis is still young but his transition has not been an easy one. We know he wants to show us his charming, sweet side, but he is having some difficulty trusting humans since his gave up on him. He is spunky and can make us laugh with his true Chihuhua personality, but it may take him some time to warm up to new people. Elvis' current room-mate is another chi who we welcomed during a 99-dog puppy mill rescue The two of them make quite the pair, reminding us of tiny deer with their long, lanky legs and doe-like brown eyes. Elvis is deserving of a new home, where he can feel confident that he is there to stay and where he can learn to relax in the comfort of love.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Patricia Scarpone, from Grass Valley, California, sent him this message: "You are a handsome young man! I am so sorry that you lost your home and hope that you get a wonderful, loving home again very soon. I can tell you have loads of charm and personality so I am sure someone will come for you very soon so you can have your very own people to love and home to call your own again." All my love to you, Patricia" Elvis sends Patricia many happy, grateful kisses and hugs.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
