Now living happily in New York.
Garnet was abandoned at an Oklahoma puppy mill. The millers were not making any money as their pups weren't selling. They packed up and moved and left all of the dogs behind to starve to death. Fortunately a neighbor realized what happened. Many of the kind townspeople came together to rescue all of the dogs from the horrible conditions and get them to safety at various no-kill shelters throughout the mid-west. We are so happy Garnet had such wonderful rescuers who were willing to drive him all the way to Nebraska. They took excellent care of him and we can tell how much he appreciates being rescued. He is still a bit shaken from his ordeal, but he has a look of hope in his eyes and a sense of relief. He is a very kind, sweet boy who is so grateful for things other dogs take for granted, like a warm bed, good food, and love. Garnet is a male Dachshund. He was born 06/11/03 and weighs 9.2 pounds.
