Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Grass Valley, California.

It is difficult to find the right words to describe this undeniably gorgeous little girl. Our Grace is so lovely, so kind and so gentle, and yet she has had bad things happen to her. She was spotted cowering in a wide, open field months ago. Kind and concerned people tried desperately to help her, setting out food and water, trying to convince her to come to them. But Gracie was so scared and untrusting that she would not relent. Finally, the people were able to trap her and brought her to our safe and loving arms. Grace is calm, sweet, shy and quiet. She is making great strides in learning to trust and does not hate the human race for whatever crimes were committed against her. To the contrary, she is learning to love us and understands now that we will not let anything bad happen to her. We talk to her gently and tell her she is the best dog ever. She lets the other dogs approach her and admire her beauty. Grace is learning that she is safe now and can let herself have joy in heart and maybe even a little fun. A home would be such a blessing for her, a place where she can continue on her journey to becoming a confident, well-loved member of a wonderful family.

Her Buddy, Carolyne Joseph, from Edmonds, Washington, send her this message: "Hi Grace, What a beautiful girl you are. Dweezel Dachshund and I would be proud to be your buddy until some lucky family takes you to your forever home. Hugs and kisses sweet girl. Carolyne and Dweezel Joseph" Grace sends Carolyne and Dweezel many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
