Now living happily in Blair, Nebraska.
Hester and Halona were rescued from a particularly nasty puppy in Nebraska. Shelties from mills often come in with their spirits so crushed that we wonder if they'll ever recover. They are wise and sensitive and very easily lose hope when they are neglected or abused. When she first arrived, we thought Halona may be one of these dogs and we prepared ourselves for a long and difficult road to rehabilitation. Halona, however, had other ideas and after the initial shock of finding herself in a brand new place, she has come around nicely. She is gentle, sweet and non-aggressive. She gets along well with her room-mates and takes their lead when it comes to interacting with people. She is still a little shy and may always be that way. It's her nature. But she is also starting to love and let herself be loved. She is an incredibly beautiful girl with a heart the size of the moon.
