Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Higgins was brought to HUA by his own family, who were moving to a place where the dear boy was not welcome. Owner surrenders always break our hearts, as the dogs are confused and scared and do not understand why they were given away. Higgins, however, is such a good boy and so full of fun that he immediately decided to make the most of this new adventure. He is just about the perfect guy. His favorite thing is pleasing people, but he is also a great friend to other dogs and cats. He loves to romp with kids and knows to be gentle and patient. He is playful yet snuggly. When we speak to Higgins, he listens. His head tilts back and forth adorably as if he must absorb every word so as not to miss a thing. Higgins will be a great family dog. He will want to be included in the goings-on in the household and will show everyone his good manners and fine disposition. He is a happy, fun little dog who deserves the best life has to offer.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Glenn Pierce from Altamont, New York, sent him this message: "Hi, Higgins! You look like a wonderful and very handsome boy who will bring endless happiness to your new family! The folks at HUA will help you find that family, and in the meantime, you have a good friend in New York!" Higgins sends Glenn many happy tail wags and little kisses of thanks!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
