Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Joe Joe the Wonder Dog is simply amazing, especially given his horrendous beginnings. HUA volunteers accompanied the sheriff to the home of Joe's abuser, who had him tied to a tree for his entire life. He was severely malnourished, had a nasty case of mange and his ears were actually partially eaten away by flies. Despite all of that, Joe Joe is full of love for everyone he meets. He is so very clever and quite a watchful boy. So clever and watchful in fact that he has figured out how to open gates by observing his caregivers! We are impressed. Joe Joe is a fabulous listener and a real people pleaser. We are all just very proud of him and his amazing progress.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Carolyne Joseph, from Edmonds, Washington, sent him this message: "Hi Joe-Joe,What a handsome fellow you are and very brave. You have a beautiful coat and such cute ears. I would be honored to be your buddy until some lucky family gives you a forever home. Carolyne Joseph" Joe Joe sends Carolyne many happy, grateful kisses and hugs.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
