be my buddy
Born: 01/09/2002
11 lbs

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Leandro is still a little unsure of new people, but he is getting the hang of having his freedom and being able to run and play. It takes him some time to trust people because he spent 7 years in a Nebraska puppy mill without loving human interaction. When he does learn to trust he is very sweet and loving though. He adores his caretakers at HUA and they say that he is very sweet little fellow. He has luxating patellas that do not require surgery and he has a scar on his left eye from an injury that happened at the mill. We hope Leandro finds a great home with people of his very own soon so that he can know what life is supposed to be like for a sweet little dog. Leandro is a male Chihuahua. He was born 01/09/02 and weighs 11.2 pounds.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Julie Harris, from Plattsburg, Missouri, sent him this message: "Leandro,  life is going to be so much better for you from now on, sweetie.  The  folks at HUA will take such good care of you until you find your forever  home.  So relax and enjoy life.  Run and jump and play with the  other dogs, because everyone there at HUA loves you.  Lots of love from  Julie and my babies, Leo and Katy." Leandro sends Julie, Leo and Katy many happy, grateful Chihuahua boy kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
