Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Wantagh, New York.

Little Bill is a humble, sweet, loving little Dachshund. He doesn't expect much good but is grateful when he gets it. He was turned in by a family who said they couldn't care for him anymore. We wonder if perhaps they were back yard breeders. Bill's tail looks like a mill dog's that has been caught in cage doors over and over and he lost 10 teeth at his first vet visit at HUA. Whatever happened to him hurt his feelings. He has a heart of gold and it has obviously been broken a few times. Bill needs lots of love, attention and reassurance. He loves to be held and we hope some day soon he can be in a quiet home with people who can give him the time and attention this precious boy deserves.
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddy, Teresa Smith, from Ericson, Nebraska, sent him this message: "You are quite a handsome fellow, Little Bill. I am happy you are in a place where you are safe and loved. Carol and I were neighbors years ago and I know she and the others at HUA are taking very good care of you. Hopefully, someone will take you home with them very soon. I will be thinking of you every day." Little Bill sends Teresa many happy, grateful Dachshund kisses and hugs.
His Buddy, Debra Kidwell, from Pataskala, Ohio, sent him this message: "Little Bill you have stolen my heart. I have three doxies (Mertle, Bodie and Fred) we wish you much success and happiness and wish you were here with us so we could love you like you deserve!! And I love your name...you are beautiful." Little Bill sends Debra, Mertle, Bodie and Fred many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
